So this week we have been doing a little bank holiday shopping trip for Morrison's on behalf off Britmums.
The challenge was, now that Morrison's have cut prices on thousands of your favourite products ( check it out here at www.morrisons.com/pricecuts to see the difference) we had to go to our local Morrison's, armed with £80 worth of vouchers for our bank holiday special shop and buy the things we would generally to make a great and tasty bank holiday recipe. Plus our Morrison's on Ampthill road Bedford, is practically brand spanking new and as i haven't yet had to the chance to explore the store it was all exciting for me and my partner Russ.
Not keen on photos lol. Smile!!
We looked through there gorgeous children's clothing range Nougat.

And of course the chocolate isle. (Britmums where were you!!)

 The gorgeous summer/BBQ isle

Desserts isle. See cheaper everyday great food. Donuts to die for!!
Now on to the delicious recipe for our bank holiday 'feast' even with an approximate price per person.

Yummy mushroom burgers with bacon and garlic and herb wedges
on behalf of

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil (+ extra for pan)
  • 14 oz raw cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 14 oz extra lean ground beef (97% lean, such as Healthy Choice)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 pinch each of salt and ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 medium egg, lightly beaten
  • 4 whole-wheat hamburger buns, split
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded dark green lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 4 Tbsp tomato sauce

Directions:

Place 2 tablespoons oil into a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high and heat until hot. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring, for 4 to 5 minutes or until pan juices have evaporated. Remove from heat, drain excess liquid and set aside for 10 minutes.
Combine mushrooms, ground beef, onion, salt and pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and egg in a large mixing bowl. Mix well using your hands. Form mixture into eight patties, place onto a lightly oiled tray, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Heat a large non-stick frying pan on medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until cooked to your liking.
Grill hamburger buns. Top each bun base with shredded lettuce, sliced tomato and two patties. Drizzle with tomato sauce to serve.
We added bacon to the top £1.04 for a pack
and used cheese and onion baps at only £1 for 4 baps!
we also had garlic and herb wedges £1 for 1kg
mince meat was 2x500g for £3.50
mushrooms were £1 for 500kg
6 eggs 85p
Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper onion and tomato sauce we already had at home.

That's around £2.79 per person for a full meal and it was healthier than normal burgers and really tasty!!!

All in all the staff were really kind and helpful, we enjoyed a pleasant, not very busy trip and was kind of calming as was very open and spacious.

As always all words are my own and the vouchers were there for review purposes of Morrison's new price cuts and not payment for the review.
